Hi Adele. So glad you have a positive attittude. I remember when I heard earlier this year that my tumour was positive, I just could not believe it. But once one comes to terms with it, it is amazing how a positive attitude can get you through anything. Please tell us more about yourself, where you are from. and also your treatment, etc. As you said somewhere else this website has helped you. Please just ask if you need anything answered or something is worrying you. All us ladies here have been through all sorts of treatments so you will get plenty of help.

Hi Amanda, you must be so relieved that the chemo is over now. Just take some time to rest now before your op. Hope you have a great xmas and new year.

Hi Adele, so glad that you have such a positive attitude and you will beat this. How many chemos do you need and are you going for radiation.

Hi all the ladies,
just got back to work since my last chemo, which was on the 3rd of December, and my operation was succesful, only lumpectomy done, and i am really grateful that my road was so blessed, i do have to continue with herceptin for next 12 months, but luckily only every 3 months, and also hormone treatment.
At least the side effects of last year will be less this time around, and my hair is finally about 1 cm, still unsure of the color though, first looked very dark, but now some lighter hair has made their appearance.

Good luck to all for 2010, and now this year is going to be great,
Mwha

Hi Amandas, how many more Herceptin do you need. Are you having any side effects with this - it made me very hungry and I just ate a lot and still do cos I don't get the full feeling anymore.

Hi all,
I have still till october to go for my herceptin, seeing radiologist tomorrow for radiation needed, and wow, i have been so perplexed about being hungry all the time, what a complete 360 degree change from my chemo end of last year to now!
I am hoping that my hair growth will pick up soon, at the moment I am getting so annoyed with people staring at me ......and I was so proud of the 5 cm hair on my head!!,
love to all - hoping this short week is awesome .... [smilie=1125.gif]

That is one of the side effects of Herceptin - the hunger which they don't tell you about. When they give you the Herceptin they must also give you panado to take cos it can also give you flu like symptoms.

I heard that lately when you have your op they also give you a dose of radiation if you need radiation and then you don't have to go for so many treatments - I had 36 and 17 herceptin.

I know the feeling about the hair cos I have a lovely bald patch on the top of my hair which everyone can see cos I am so short. I also have no eyebrows!!! [smilie=1124.gif]

I bet the two of you still look georgeous, hair or no hair. Thank the stars our hair grows back. Amandas it sounds that you are well and very positive, well done and keep it up.

Good luck and lots of love
Tania
