Hi ladies

Who attended the shavathon?

Due to our finances we did not support it sadly

[smilie=1113.gif]

However we went to a centre where they were having it and we decided to walk past, well let me tell you the emotions all came back, I could not get out of there quick enough Ed also had terrible emotions and rushed to get out of the centre. I don't think I would have made it sitting there. I really thought I was fine with it all, but that just proved that I am not.

If you went what was your experience.

Went to help at Cresta Centre and helped with the spraying of the hair. Watched as an elderly lady had all her hair shaved off and thought that was me 2 years ago. I noticed quite a lot of people just walked past and made as if we didn't exist - hello guys we're not contagious!!! It was mostly the woman that came and had their hair sprayed.

I know people that shaved all their hair off, mainly men. The ladies had their hair spraid. It is a very emotional event for cancer patients and survivors to attend, and a very happy, jovial and fun thing for those who have not experienced someone with cancer before but who would like to do something for charity. It was nice seeing kids there, i just hope they understood what it is all about so they can be proud of themselves for giving.Bloem was well attended and Cansa is appreciative of the funds collected.

We all went to Randridge Mall and my son had his hair sprayed pink. My husband who did both (shave and spray) last year did not this year because of the brain op scars etc. And it was well supported which was good.

Did they do it for you? I admire women that shave their hair off, it is a big thing for women to go without hair.
